Summer Soccer Camp 2020, New Canaan, CT
As summer approaches, kids and parents are looking for super fund and exciting ways to pass the hot summer days. We are excited to offer The Real Madrid Foundation Soccer Camps for our second summer running in New Canaan, Connecticut. We will be returning to St. Luke’s School on July 20-24, 2020.
Take advantage of the area
Apart from soccer for the younger kids, camps all over New Canaan offer several options for making new friends, trying new things, and kicking boredom to the curb during summer vacation. Some of the options in New Canaan let kids explore nature, build things, make crafts, and play sports. One camp specifically helps kids get better at soccer.
The New Canaan Nature Center summer camp offers weekly camps for kids of all ages where they can explore and learn all around their beautiful 40 acres. Some of the activities include searching for bugs, exploring the ponds, building shelters, watching animal shows, and gardening. Camp Kidsville is a day camp offered through the New Canaan Recreation Department. This cool camp for 5 and 6-year-olds includes such fun as face painting, marshmallow roasting, and Lego day. Staff come from the area and are specially trained in social skills, first aid, camper interaction, and conflict resolution. The YMCA also brings fun for all ages starting at age 3. In these 2-week sessions, kids will swim, do arts and crafts, play sports, and hang out with plenty of new friends. There’s also an outdoor camp for older kids that includes canoeing and archery along with more traditional day camp activities.
Who are we?
If you want to dive into soccer coached by one of the most prestigious clubs in the world, our Soccer Camp, uses coaches that travel from Real Madrid in Spain to the USA for our specific program. We offer for kids ages 6 to 15 in all experience levels. The Real Madrid Foundation uses sport to build relationships and break down barriers. This soccer camp brings lessons in social and cultural awareness, teamwork, and self-confidence along with honed soccer skills. Our days are spent addressing different parts of the game of soccer like heading, shooting, tactics, and using your weaker foot. Goalkeepers will also spend time honing their particular skillset. At the end of the week, we have a larger competition and an awards ceremony. The camps are held on St. Luke’s beautiful fields and state of the art facilities. Camps are open to both boys and girls, and players are grouped by skill level on the Monday of each week by our head coach. Each player gets a Real Madrid Foundation uniform to practice with and take home.
What is the camp?
Using these experienced coaches allows campers to learn from some of the best in the game. They will gain skills in ball handling, shooting, defending, and much more. As their skills increase so will their confidence and their readiness for their upcoming seasons. In addition, an RM coach will be the coaching director of every camp and will lead the group in the RM methodology. Coaching alongside the Spanish coaches are talented local coaches. That means we offer an average coach to athlete ratio of between 8:1 and 11:1. This kind of focused coaching gives kids a tremendous edge.
Just feel it!
Whether you are a soccer mom or a soccer dad, you want your soccer-loving child to have fun and gain skills during the summer. While there are lots of options for kids in these warmer months, we believe that kids that love The Beautiful Game will love our camps. We are excited to offer these wonderful camps again and we look forward to seeing your player.
